For over 30 years, sometime during the Christmas and holiday season, I invite longtime friend, and great patriot, Mike McGrath to join me for a show.  A native of Delta, Colorado, Mike went to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, then on to flight school.  Upon graduation, he was assigned to fly combat missions off the USS Constellation, an aircraft carrier based off the coast of Vietnam. On his 179th mission he was shot down over North Vietnam and captured.  He, and the other Prisoners of War, endured unbearable torture. For the first three years of captivity, nobody knew if he was dead or alive.  After almost six years in the infamous Hanoi Hilton, he was released along with the other prisoners.  He wrote a book, which he illustrated himself, Prisoner of War; Six Years in Hanoi, recounting the experience.  He and other prisoners were also featured in the documentary, Return with Honor.

Every year we recount the experience.  He tells stories, and shares with us how each of us can appreciate our blessings just a little bit more at Christmas.  After all, he had six really bad holidays.  Maybe we don't have it quite so bad.  Hope you can tune in.  And feel free to call in.  The station phone number is listed below.
