Have I told you how much I love my job?
Over the last few weeks I have visited, and reported on, a number of wonderful establishments. I have also hosted some fabulous Lunch Bunches and a great Supper Club. Jeff Richard, owner of the Old Stone Church in Castle Rock, and I hosted two couples who had entered a contest to become restaurant reviewers on the radio show. Plates included brussels sprouts with sausage, scallop tacos, chicken flautas, ahi tuna won ton, and more, not to mention a variety of desserts. Both winners joined me on the air to report their findings, and both were impressed with the new “shareables” menu and the new decor. They did a nice job.
In the Denver area I stopped by for my periodic Indian food “fix” at India’s Castle on Arapahoe Road just east of I-25. The lunch buffet is always plentiful, fresh, and wonderfully tasty. Open 365 days a year, I find India’s Castle, and the owner Jay, to be the most enjoyable Indian restaurant in the area. Then for Asian, I can’t go too long without a visit to John Holly’s Asian Bistro on Park Meadows Drive in Lone Tree. I always eat too much food, but who can turn down the hot & spicy soup followed by the Las Vegas roll, topped off with the filet mignon Asian style with a black pepper sauce?
For a movie, I loved Reacher. My kind of flick. Lots of action. Read quite a few books, but loved Carl Hiaasen’s Razor Girl. Just a funny, funny book set in the Florida Keys.
